I don't know why Boney M. never made it big in the States. Their other European hits include a version of the reggae classic "By the Rivers of Babylon," itself an adaptation of Psalm 137; "Hooray, Hooray, It's a Holiday!," which borrows its melody from the American folksong "Pollywollydoodle"; and the fabulous disco-kazachok* anthem "Rasputin":
